PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

The Planning and Building Department works in cooperation with the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustment, providing information and/or assistance needed for all aspects of the planning and building process. The Planning and Building Department consists of three major divisions, listed below, with a brief description of the various duties performed.

OFFICE HOURS

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m., telephone calls accepted until 5:00 p.m.

PLANNING SECTION

The Planning section is the liaison between the applicant (property owner, developer, engineer, etc.) and the Planning Commission and City Council in the following areas:

Annexation
Subdivision
Rezoning
Street Vacation
Development Review
Traffic Counts
Demographics
Street Lights
Maps

BUILDING INSPECTOR
The Building Inspection Division is devoted to the health, safety and welfare of the general public through enforcement of adopted building, fire and zoning codes. The following are areas covered by the Building Inspector:

Building Permits
Inspections
Flood Zone Information
Sign Permits
Zoning

Short Form - This application is for Jobs with a Single Contractor that does not require a diagram showing yard requirements.

(Ex. Re-roof, Vinyl Siding, Interior or Exterior Painting)

CODE ENFORCEMENT

The Code Enforcement Division helps to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living environment by enforcing regulatons to eliminate the following:

High grass and weeds
Trash and debris
Dilapidated structures
Abandoned/Junk/Unlicensed Vehicles

Other duties include:

License Inspections
Zoning Violations
Nuisance Abatement
